[Order to pay Mary Pocock, innkeeper, for quartering soldiers], Whitehall, 1679 Jun 26.

Manuscript, in a single hand, consisting of a printed form, with dates, names, and money amounts filled in, authorizing the recipient to pay 9 pounds, 16 shillings, and 6 pence out of the Treasury to Mary Pocok, innkeeper, for having quartered several of Captain Edward Matthews' soldiers in the regiment of Colonel Thomas Stradling for several days. The document is signed by Arthur Capel, 1st Earl of Essex; Laurence Hyde, 1st Earl of Rochester; Sir John Ernle; Sir Edward Dering, 3d Bart., and Sidney Godolphin, 1st Earl of Godolphin. The form bears the following printed address: "To our very loving Friend, Sir Robert Howard Kt. Auditor of the Receipt of His Majesties Exchequer."
